  • Coordinated 6-month nutrigenetic weight loss study (dissertation project), funded by Curves International (Waco, TX) and Interleukin Genetics (Waltham, MA)
  • Coordinated all testing sessions on lab schedule and manage staff one day per week
  • Conducted the following tests and procedures on a daily basis: 
    • Treadmill stress test
    • Wingate
    • Time Trials
    • Resting energy expenditure
    • ECG measurement and interpretation
    • Blood draw and processing
    • Muscular strength and endurance via leg press and bench press
    • Bioelectrical impedance (handheld and supine)
    • DXA scan
    • Assessment of fat deposition via ultrasound device (similar to skin caliper procedures)
    • Resting and exercise blood pressure and heart rate
  • Provided diet education to participants enrolled in weight loss studies
  • Developed menus for weight loss studies testing various macronutrient compositions within a hypocaloric diet
  • Assisted with data collection and entry of various studies conducted in the lab
  • Conducted the following tests and procedures in analytical lab:
    • ELISA kit to measure fasting insulin, cortisol, testosterone, superoxide dismutase, total antioxidant status, and nitrotyrosine
    • COBAS machine to measure fasting blood lipid profile and complete metabolic panel (excluding electrolytes)
    • Cell Dyn to measure complete blood count
